Six great features in Office 2013

The new Office 2013 suite is very great and interesting for the fact that there are many new features in it. Based on the experiences of the preview of the new Office 2013 package, here are six
awesome additions in it.

Start Screens

With this, each app supports a new colour-coded start screen. Green for Excel, Blue for Word and Orange for power point. These screens will help new users to find their ways around more easily, and experience users will appreciate having all of their options in one place at startup.

The top right of the screen shows details of the Skydrive account that you used when logging. The new start screens show a range of options for launching a document.

Skydrive Integration

Instead of saving your work to your local disk, Microsoft has provided two cloud storage options for you in the new Office 2013. With Skydrive and SharePoint in particular, you can save your documents, worksheet and presentations online by default. If you use Skydrive, the account details will appear in the top left corner of the entire app screen as well as on their start screens. You can click your account details to switch and manage it and you can also save to your local disk if you wish.

PDF Editing

Gone are the days that you cannot edit a PDF files without first converting them to Doc or DocX format. With the new Office 2013, you can open PDF files, edit and save them as either PDF files or DocXs. For some users that don’t have the experiences on how to edit a PDF files, this will really save them time and energy.

More Graphic Options

With this, you now have the options of going online to insert pictures from your Skydrive or Flickr account to add to your documents, worksheet and Powerpoint. You can also add from any online sources that you like. But to access your Flickr account, you must first need to authorize Office to access it.

Improved features for Excel and Powerpoint

There are many improved and new features for excel and Powerpoint. In excel, the recommended charts feature is useful. The Excel recommended charts tool analyzes your selected data and select appropriate chart to display the data.

However, formatting images, shapes and other objects in Powerpoint is now more intuitive. The PowerPoint’s new task panes put formatting features permanently on the screen where you can easily find and access them.

Account Login

Here you can login to your Skydrive account or switch accounts. You will also see a list of connected services such as twitter and facebook and add services such as LinkedIn and Skydrive. To have access to your Office 2013 packages, you have to login, but after that, you have so many interesting features in the new office suites.
